PLN 2 REDO

Summary:  
Topic sentence: “What's Wrong With the Teenage Mind?,” by Alison Gopnik, shows the pubertal increase in teens at an earlier age.
Supporting evidence: Gopnik says, that puberty is now kicking in at an earlier age, the leading theory points to changes in energy balance as kids eat more and move less. Another point Gopnik states is that in contemporary life, the relationship between these two systems has changed dramatically. Puberty arrives earlier, and the motivational system kicks in earlier causing kids to try different things at an earlier and earlier age.


Conclusion: Through this article  Gopnik, shows the changes between children today and children years and years ago.

Topic sentence: Allison Gopnik’s, “What’s Wrong With the Teenage Mind,” does correctly display the changes in children today because her evidence supports the fact of children reaching puberty earlier.
Claim 1: Teenagers are becoming more prone to earlier and earlier puberty ages which is a causing factor for many things inside the teenage community.
Setup ex: Kids bodies can’t support the change in their bodies which is the reason why children are experimenting with different things like sex,drugs, and alcohol.
Evidence: Gopnik asks, “How does the boy who can thoughtfully explain the reasons never to drink and drive end up in a drunken crash?” Children are reaching puberty body when quite frankly bodies aren’t ready for this change.
Explain: To kids brains all these things seem fun at the time, maybe testosterone increase or peer pressure, but really they can be threatening to your future.  
Counter claim 1: Although, some children are able to handle the change in their bodies.
Setup: Teenagers have become so diverse some becoming young adults and some staying immature.
Evidence: While some teens head to college others drop out because of money problems and teen issues such as drinking and drugs.
